John Brawley shoots narrative style video with the Olympus OM-D E-M5 II

When you think of video, Olympus probably isn’t the first mirrorless brand that jumps to mind, but this hasn’t stopped John Brawley, a highly respected Director of Photography based in Australia, from using the Olympus OM-D E-M5 II for some of his video work.

For a recent short narrative style shoot entitled Intrigue, he used the E-M5 II with its FLAT video profile and a combination of lenses including the M.Zuiko 12mm f/2, M.Zuiko 9-18mm f/4-5.6, and some PL mount Zeiss MK 3 Superspeeds. All footage was taken hand-held using the in-body 5-axis stabilisation system and recorded to an external recorder over HDMI using the “clean feed function” of the camera.
