The best Sony a6000 lenses for sports according to Patrick Murphy Racey

Of all mirrorless cameras, the Sony a6000 is easily one of the best for sports photography because of its very effective AF system. The problem, however, is that there are very few fast, high quality optics designed natively for the APS-C mount. Many either aren’t very sharp or have a slow maximum aperture.

When photographer Patrick Murphy Racey decided to switch over to Sony E-mount, he knew that he needed an arsenal of lenses that would suit his sports photography. Since the E-mount is used on both the APS-C and full-frame cameras from Sony, his bag features a mix of FE and standard crop sensor lenses.

In his article, he describes the various lenses he uses on his a6000 for basketball photography. They range from the E 35mm f/1.8, one of the best native lenses for the APS-C system, to FE options like the gorgeous Zeiss Batis 85mm f/1.8.

If you own the a6000 and are confused about which lenses to buy, Patrick’s suggestions are an excellent starting point.
