Real Estate Photography with the Fujifilm X-Pro1 and XF 10-24mm f/4

Twenty-five years ago, Toronto-based real estate photographer Marco Sobrevinas was using large and heavy format view cameras to complete his work, which, in his words, was both physically demanding and technically challenging. Fast forward to 2016 and his kit has been downsized to the Fujifilm X-Pro1 and his one go-to lens, the XF 10-24mm f/4.

He cites a couple of reasons he prefers using zooms rather than primes to make a living. First, he likes how you can quickly change your focal length according to how much much or little of the room you need in the picture. Second, he prefers to avoid changing lenses on mirrorless systems because he finds that they are more vulnerable to dust landing on the sensor.

An interesting point Marco makes is that 90% of the time, he’ll wind up using 10mm on the zoom lens because interiors often require the widest focal length possible.

For those interested in the genre, he concludes his article with a series of tips and tricks, some related to real estate photography in general and others to the X-Pro1 and the wide-angle zoom.
