One of the much-awaited mirrorless telephoto lenses of 2016 is the Panasonic 100-400mm f/4-6.3 tele-zoom whose release is scheduled for March 15th according to B&HPhoto.
So far, only two websites have posted full-resolution sample images taken with the lens.
The first is Lumix Luminary Daniel J. Cox who has been testing the lens for a few months. He openly states in his latest blog post that, due to the lens being pre-production, the images may not be an accurate representation of its actual performance. To download the full-resolution images, simply visit his Leica Zoom Samples page and type in the password provided in this post.
The second is Joshua Waller of ePhotoZine. He recently posted six images that you can download and pixel peep. Unlike Daniel, Joshua states that the images are representative of the final image quality even though the lens is pre-production. All the images were taken on a Panasonic Lumix GX8 with its 20MP sensor.
Finally, if you’re interested in seeing even more sample images taken out in the field, you can check out the Twitter feeds of Panasonic UK Wildlife Ambassador Phil Gould and sports photographer / Lumix ambassador Ian Cook. Both have posted low-resolution images taken with the lens in their respective fields of photography.
