Nathan Wright of Ω image recently wrote an interesting article that details his feelings towards the Leica SL, which he purchased in the autumn of 2016 for a mix of professional and personal reasons.
Though his overall impressions are positive, particularly concerning the design and usability of the camera, he remains critical of the AF-C tracking capabilities, which are subpar compared to those of cameras with PDAF sensors such as the Fujfilm X-T2.
He also laments the implementation of EVFs in general, stating that they erect “an interpretive wall between the photographer and what his or her eyes naturally see.” Despite this, he also states that the SL’s EVF is the best he’s ever used.
