Night photographer Andrew Whyte shares 6 reasons to go for the Sony A7s

If there is one kind of photographer who will be more tempted to switch over to the Sony A7s or A7s II than anyone else, it is the night photographer.

Andrew Whyte, who we interviewed on MirrorLessons back in August, is one such photographer. He specialises in light painting, astrophotography, star trails, and long exposures, using light and the absence of it to make exciting and dynamic compositions.

In his most recent article, he explains why he feels a seasoned DSLR user might choose to switch over to the Sony A7s, as he did 15 months ago. He lists innovative features such as the smart remote app, live view, size/weight, as well as other less apparent advantages that he’s come across since switching systems. Of course, he does not hesitate to list its limitations either, the chaotic menu system being his main complaint.

If you are considering the switch over to the Sony A7s, Andrew’s article should give you some insight into what you should expect from the system, especially if you are used to DSLRs. We encourage you to read his entire post and check out his varied portfolio to find out more.
