Loren Runyon Discusses Bird Photography with Micro Four Thirds

Amateur photographer Loren Runyon and his wife Catherine are both enthusiasts of nature and travel photography but there is nothing they enjoy more than photographing birds, a common passion which began with Catherine’s interest in birding.

Recently Loren started an in-depth six-part series about using Micro Four Thirds cameras (specifically the Olympus OM-D E-M1) for bird photography on his blog Mirrorless Planet. In his posts, he details his experience with bird photography, the equipment he uses, the main reasons for and against Micro Four Thirds compared to other systems, his methods of tracking birds in their environment, useful accessories, tips and tricks, and much more.

Though he is only 1/3 of the way through this series of posts, I’ve found them very informative, well-written, personal and descriptive so far – not to mention that his bird images are excellent!
