Jeff Carter is a professional sports photographer who shoots motor sports. For him, speed is a crucial factor. In his latest two blog posts, he shared his results after testing no less than 6 different types of SD cards from brands such as Sandisk, PNY, Lexar, and so on.
Both the X-T1 and X-Pro2 support UHS-II standard (the X-Pro2 in one slot out of the two) which means they can use cards with a faster writing speed. As Jeff says:
I have long known the benefits of using the faster cards for camera operation and last weekend on the Snowman Rally I was shooting with the X-Pro2 on 8fps and the cards I am using certainly enabled me to continuing shooting uninterrupted.
Jeff conducted the test by shooting RAW+JPG then JPG only. On the X-Pro2 he tested both slots 1 and 2. In his conclusion, he states which ones are his favourites:
If you are running an X-T1 or X-Pro2 I recommend buying the faster LEXAR or Toshiba SDHC II cards.
