Anyone who follows Dan Bailey, an X Photographer based in Alaska, knows that he is all about shooting action and adventure in some of the most extreme places on earth. For this reason, the XF 35mm f/2 couldn’t have fallen into better hands. As soon as he received the lens, he was able to use it at a “fat bike race” in Anchorage, and despite not being the ideal focal length for sports, it was the only lens he used for the entire race. He summarises the 35mm’s performance as follows:
“It’s quick, silent, and in continuous high mode on the the X-T1, it does a fine job tracking moving subjects.”
As for the appearance of the lens, he likens it to a Leica Summicron, saying that “it brings you back to that kinder, simpler time in photography.” We have to say that we agree with him!
