Yesterday Samyang / Rokinon announced the fourth lens in their Samyang Blockbuster series. The 20mm f/1.8 ED AS UMC is an ultra-wide manual focus photography lens with a bright aperture and 13 elements in 12 groups including two aspherical lenses and three extra-low dispersion lenses.
Featuring a circular aperture with seven blades and a minimum focus distance of 20cm, this lens makes it possible to isolate your subject while creating a pleasant out of focus background.
Although it has been designed for full-frame sensors, it is compatible with 10 mounts: Canon EOS, Nikon AE, Pentax K, Sony Alpha, Canon M, Fujifilm X, Samsung NX, Sony E, FT, MFT.
Also available is a Cine lens version dubbed the 20mm T1.9 ED AS UMC. It includes follow focus gear rings and a de-clicked aperture for smooth and quiet operation. The distance scale and T numbers are marked on both sides of the lens for convenience when filming. Otherwise it is identical to the 20mm f/1.8.
