A few days ago, Samyang revealed that it would be announcing a new lens every Monday for the next five weeks in an event called the “2016 Summer Samyang Blockbuster campaign.” The first of these lenses was unveiled today: the 135mm T2.2 XEEN Cine lens for Sony E, MFT, PL, F and EF mounts.
This lens joins the five existing XEEN lenses –14mm T3.1, 24mm T1.5, 35mm T1.5, 50mm T1.5 and 85mm T1.5, 135mm T2.2 – and promises outstanding image quality for 4K+ video and cinema production, with clear contrast and impressive colours even in less-than-optimal lighting conditions. It is the first telephoto XEEN and works not only with full-frame cameras, but also with Super 35, APS-C and APS-H cameras.
The new XEEN 135mm T2.2 will be available in August 2016 at the recommended retail price of €2,200.
