Yesterday, a new monthly “Mirrorless Show” was introduced to the popular Photofocus podcast. Hosted by founder Scott Bourne and street photographer Marco Larousse, their plan is to use the series to “discuss news and information about the increasingly popular mirrorless camera market.” It is also the evolution of the WeShootFuji podcast Scott and Marco held throughout 2015.
Due to the addition of the mirrorless show, the Photofocus podcast schedule will now be organised in the following manner:
- Q&A with Scott & Rich – 7th of every month
- Inspirational show with Scott & Marco – 14th of every month
- Photography guest interviews with Pamela – 21st of every month
- Mirrorless show with Scott & Marco – 28th of every month
The idea behind having four different shows per month is to give the listeners a wide and diverse coverage of photography related topics by only having to subscribe to one podcast feed.
In the first episode, Scott and Marco discuss the latest news and product announcements from Fujifilm, Olympus and Panasonic including the:
- Fujifilm X-Pro2
- Fujinon XF 100-400 / M.Zuiko 300mm / Panasonic Leica 100-400mm
- Fujifilm X70 and X-E2s
I had a listen to the entire show and found it very enjoyable, not only because both presenters are knowledgable and articulate but also because it is a manageable length of 47 minutes. It is also nice to see that the presenters give attention to all the relevant brands despite being primarily Fujifilm users themselves.
You can find out more about the new series on the official Photofocus website and subscribe to the podcast on iTunes.
