Yesterday, Scott Bourne and Marco Larousse hosted the second episode of the PhotoFocus mirrorless camera show. Airing once a month on the 28th, the 45-minute podcast focuses on the latest news and releases in the mirrorless world.
In this episode, Scott and Marco spend most of their time giving feedback about the Fujifilm X-Pro2, which Macro was able to try at his local camera shop, the Fujinon XF 100-400mm f/4-5.6, which Scott bought for his personal use, and the Olympus Pen F and M.Zuiko 300mm f/4.
They conclude the show by listing the pros and cons of using a mirrorless camera compared to a DSLR and sharing some telling statistics about the current state of the camera market.
On the whole, I really like how this podcast is developing. Both hosts are knowledgable about the topic and make an effort to try the products they discuss by either attending events or purchasing the gear themselves. What’s more, you can tell that Scott and Marco are experienced at keeping a good pace, both in terms of the speed at which they speak and the length of time they talk about each topic. It is very rare that I listen to a podcast and hardly notice the time go by, but this is exactly the kind of rhythm both hosts manage to achieve.
