Gavin Hardy is a professional photographer from Kent in the UK. Although his core business is weddings, he also does a lot of documentary and portrait work.
Last year in October he was commissioned by Livewire Sport for a different kind of project: to produce photographs for the NFL UK social media accounts during the National Football League games in London. The job involved capturing the passion of the fans around the city and the atmosphere surrounding the Wembley stadium. But even more interesting are the series of shots that Gavin took of the NY Jet players in various iconic locations around London like the Underground or the Big Ben. As Gavin says, it was a combination of documentary, event and commercial photography.
Gavin used the Sony A7 mark II and FE 35mm f/1.4 for most of his shots, except for a few of the game where he used the 70-400mm f/4-5.6 A-mount lens. Gavin started using the A7 two years ago before upgrading to the mark II version, which has become his main camera for work.
