Olympus has officially announced a series of firmware updates for three of its most recent cameras – the OM-D E-M1 II, Pen F and OM-D E-M5 II – as well as its two Sync IS compatible lenses, the M.Zuiko 12-100mm f/4 and 300mm f/4 PRO.
The update brings the following to the E-M1 II:
- Improved color reproduction of EVF.
- Corrected the issue of other brand flashes not flashing for High Res Shot, Focus Bracketing, and Focus Stacking.
- Corrected issue of Rec View screen not displaying in the rear monitor when using EVF to shoot photos.
- Corrected issue of home position of AF target not being retained when the power is turned off.
- Improved stability of the battery level indicator.
- Improved noise reduction of sequential shooting while the lens’s IS is on.
- Compatibility with the Profoto Air Remote TTL-O
The E-M5 II has received a different range of updates…
- Compatibility with the Profoto Air Remote TTL-O
- Backup of camera settings is possible.
- Compensation for mid-range gradation when using Highlight & Shadow Control is possible.
- Position of AF target and range of spot metering can be linked.
…as has the Pen F:
- Compatibility with the Profoto Air Remote TTL-O
- Backup of camera settings is possible.
- Art filters can be selected by using touch operations while viewing sample images in Art Filter mode.
- Setting minimum value for shutter speed to increase ISO sensitivity while auto ISO is set is possible.
- Improved operability of AF targeting pad.
As for the two lenses, both have received an update to improve noise reduction of sequential shooting while the lens’s IS is on when using an E-M1 Mark II, but the update that improves performance of synchro image stabilization while using the E-M1 or E-M5 Mark II has only been given to the 12-100mm.
