Venus Optics has announced two new manual focus lenses for mirrorless systems: the LAOWA 15mm f/2 for Sony E-mount and the LAOWA 7.5mm f/2 for Micro Four Thirds.
The 15mm f/2 is currently the world’s fastest 15mm rectilinear lens for Sony full-frame E-mount cameras and should prove a great companion for landscape, architecture and astrophotography. Another member of the brand’s “close-to-zero distortion” line-up, it features a 100-degree angle of view, an ultra-fast f/2 aperture and a 72mm thread. To match the portability of E-mount cameras, the lens is only 82mm in length and weighs in at just 500g.
The 7.5mm f/2 is the widest f/2 rectilinear lens for the Micro Four Thirds mount. Despite its extreme specifications, the lens weighs just 170g and measures 55mm in length. It too promises to become the ideal option for landscapes, architecture, astrophotography and even drone photography thanks to its lightweight construction.
Both lenses will be on display at Photokina 2016 in Cologne, Germany. To find out more, you can visit the official Venus Optics website.
