Sigma has officially entered the cinema lens market with the announcement of eight high-performance E-mount Cine Lenses designed specifically for cinematography with high megapixel sensors. According to the Sigma press release:
… [this] new lens line could create a fundamental change in digital film production, and provide a new solution for cinematographers.
The new lenses are as follows:
- 18-35mm T2 – High speed zoom. Offers constant aperture with optical performance that is 6-8K ready.
- 50-100mm T2 – High speed zoom. Offers constant aperture with optical performance that is 6-8K ready.
- 24-35mm T2.2 – Compatible with full-frame image circle. Optical performance that is 6-8K ready.
- 20mm T2, 24mm T1.5, 35mm T1.5, 50mm T1.5, 85mm T1.5 – High speed prime lenses. Compatible with full-frame image circle. Compact, weatherproof and offer high resolution.
