I don’t believe Sony is better; I’m convinced of it.
This final sentence in Nino Batista’s review of the Sony A7 series on Fstoppers sums up his first experience using the Sony A7r II for a commercial photography assignment.
A long-time Canon shooter, he was particularly impressed by the lightweight body, extra megapixels, electronic viewfinder, and the sharpness, colour, and bokeh produced by the glass from both Sony and Zeiss. And while he agrees that the Sony menu system is convoluted at best, he also states (quite humorously):
…the complex Sony digital interface is still easier to navigate than any Nikon in recent memory.
I found it quite telling that, after just one session, Nino has decided to hang up his Canon gear in favour of a completely new system. Since most of his work involves commercial, glamour and automotive shoots for which more megapixels and a live preview of your scene can come in handy, I’m sure he’ll get along swimmingly!
