No, this isn’t an early April Fool’s joke. Fujifilm has indeed released a firmware update for all its older models including the X-A1, X-A2, X-M1, X-E1 and X-Pro1. This update brings support for the focus limiter function of the XF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR telephoto lens.
The X-E2, X-T10 and X-T1 already received the update at the beginning of February along with some other small updates, while the X-E2s and X-Pro2 were already compatible from the start.
The XF 50-140mm f/2.8 and XF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 have also received a firmware update that improves the AF function when used with the X-Pro1 or X-E1. Before you update the X-Pro1, you must make sure that it already has firmware Ver.2.00 or later.
