Cosina has announced the price and shipment date of two out of three of its new Voigtlander wide-angle lenses for Sony E-mount cameras. The 15mm f/4.5 Super Wide Heliar, which is already available for the VM-Mount, is scheduled to ship in April 2016 for the price of ¥155,000 (around $1373) while the brand new 10mm f/5.6 is expected in May 2016 at the price of ¥115,000 (around $1019).
There hasn’t been any mention of the price or shipment date of the 12mm f/5.6 Ultra Wide-Heliar, which is also available for the VM-Mount.
An important characteristic of these three lenses is that all EXIF data such as focal length, aperture, and focus distance is transmitted to the camera via electrical contacts. The data is used for metering, image stabilisation, and lens correction.
They all feature a selective aperture control system that allows for step less and soundless aperture control.
