The brand new XF 35mm f/2 has been making the rounds, most recently falling into the hands of X Photographer David Kai Piper who took it out for a night portrait shoot in Birmingham along with three models and a dozen Harley Davidson motorcycles. Although the set was nearly pitch dark, David states that the 35mm had very little trouble focusing unlike its older cousin, the 35mm f/1.4. However, his impression is that the 35mm f/1.4 is “brighter to the edges and sharper” at apertures below f/5.6.
