For those who love to shoot macro, there are many reasons to choose the Olympus OM-D system. It is lightweight and thus very easy to carry around for extended periods of time. It has a smaller sensor, allowing for more depth of field. And the 5-axis stabilisation, combined with a steady hand, makes it easier to stabilise your images and take sharp shots.
These are just a few of the reasons Faiz of Mirrorless Macro Photography switched over to the OM-D E-M5, and subsequently the E-M1, for his amazing macro work. Recently, he took a trip to three of Australia’s national parks – Springbrook, Lamington, and Tamborine – where he took numerous shots of the insect life there. While all the images are stunning, I am a big fan of his spider images, despite being a bit of an arachnophobe myself! (Somehow, he always manages to bring out their cute side!)
