We recently came across a mesmerising gallery of landscape images taken by German photographer Michael Schaake during his three-day trip to Stamsund, Norway. To document the journey, he used his trusty Fujifilm X-T1 and XF 18-135mm, XF 55-200mm, XF 18mm, XF 56mm, XF 10-24mm lenses.
In order to reach Stamsund, a fishing village close to the northern-most tip of Norway, Michael had to travel from Hamburg to Tromsö by plane, with a stopover in Oslo, and then to his final destination by ship. Though he was almost laid over in Oslo because of a snowstorm, he was much luckier with the weather once he arrive at his destination, able to capture not only the Northern Lights at night but also many snowy mountainous landscapes bathed in sublime light throughout the day.
This isn’t the only exciting trip Michael has taken recently. He has also photographed much warmer locations such as Nambia and Bali and even had the chance to attend a Venice workshop with Ming Thein.
